Rosie's Legacy
The story of an extraordinary dog and the business she inspired.
Rosie was a Collie Cross, and she was quite simply one of the most remarkable animals I have ever known. She arrived in our lives as a puppy and from that very first day she made it clear she had absolutely no intention of being left behind.
A Life Lived to the Full
From the moment she was old enough to travel, Rosie came to work with me every single day. She was not a dog who stayed at home while her owner went out into the world. She was part of everything. Over fifteen years together, she accompanied me across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, experiencing more of this country and its people than most dogs ever do. She was sharp, intuitive, endlessly curious and completely at ease in any situation. New places, new faces, long journeys, busy environments. Nothing fazed her. She simply took it all in her stride.
What Made Her Special
Rosie had a quality that is very difficult to describe but immediately recognisable to anyone who has spent time around truly exceptional dogs. She could read a room. She knew instinctively who needed calming, who needed a gentle nudge of affection and who simply needed her to sit quietly nearby. She was a natural communicator, and she made everyone she met feel somehow better for having been in her company. She was my constant companion and in every sense that truly matters, my family. The fifteen years we shared were some of the richest of my life, and the hole she has left behind will never quite be filled.
Goodbye, Sweet Girl
Rosie passed away peacefully in February 2026 after fifteen beautiful, full and deeply loved years. Losing her was one of the hardest things I have ever faced, and the grief that comes with losing a dog who was truly your constant is something only fellow animal lovers will fully understand. Her memory lives on in everything I do. Every animal I care for will be treated with the same devotion, attentiveness and genuine love that Rosie received every single day of her life. She shaped who I am as a carer, and that is something I carry with me into every walk, every visit and every overnight stay.
Her Legacy Lives On
Viv's Pet Care Services exists because of Rosie. Every dog I walk, every cat I visit, every pet I care for overnight receives the same standard of love and attention that Rosie received every day of her fifteen years with me. That is her legacy and it is one I am deeply proud to carry forward.
